Come “home” to Lakewood

This year our studio was selected to be part of the biennial Come Home to Lakewood Home Tour. We opened our studio and the petit parc to over 1000 visitors as they spent the afternoon admiring the secret garden, getting to know our team and our work.

Each tour location was provided with a floral designer for the event, and we were delighted to work with Lakewood florist Vase 2 Vase. Jeff over at V2V designed simple arrangements for our desks and shelves, as well as a floral masterpiece for the studio “lounge” which included brussel sprouts, orchids, a baby eggplant and many more unique elements. Thanks you guys, you are truly talented floral creatives!

Our parc was given a little face lift by area landscaper, Matt Gaydos of Gardens by Gaydos. The many white pansies and fall mums that were planted greeted the visitors as they entered our petite parc. Thanks Matt for all your help; you did a great job!

Big thanks goes out to “friends of Chartreuse;” Amber and Gretchen for helping guide guests through the parc and the office space. We are lucky to have you both as wonderful; friends!

Lastly, thank you to the Lakewood Historical Society for including us in your awesome event. Your volunteers were very professional and no detail went unnoticed. We know how much hard work goes into planning an event like this. You should be very proud of yourselves…congrats!

A sweet new project

We recently had the pleasure of creating a ‘fresh’ new identity for Stella, an artisan food brand cropping up in local farmers markets in Cleveland and Bozeman, Montana. Comprised of fresh and seasonal jams, jellies and juices, Stella really was a sweet project for us. Named after the client’s grandmother who taught her how to make preserves, need to embody the crisp feel of organic produce while remaining clean and sophisticated. We created a brand with lots of room to grow, with modern typography, a custom S symbol and bright colors.

We created full business cards for the client to share, as well as mini-cards for her farmers market display. Pre-printed customizable label templates allow for flexibility and kitchen experiments, but still create brand unity.

We’re looking forward to hearing her progress, and hope to check out a Montana farmers market soon!

form follows LUNCHEON!

When our Madison Avenue neighbors, architectural firm AODK, invited us over for a summertime lunch gathering, we couldn’t be more thrilled.

An opportunity to visit their impressive rooftop patio for a noon break of lunchtime refreshments and creative conversation is definitely a treat. We all enjoyed catching up on each other’s current projects and summer plans while absorbing some serious Vitamin D.

Many thanks to the gentlemen at AODK for a lovely afternoon!

Third time’s a charm

We’re happy to report that this year’s Third Annual Art in the Parc event was truly one for the books. Expanding the party space from the patio onto the driveway, we invited even more of our talented artist friends to share their work.  In addition to wearables, paintings and prints, this year we included two skilled culinary artisans selling cupcakes, fresh juices and jams. Yum!

At Chartreuse we love to throw a good party, so this year’s special design details included trendy neon paper chains framing the street, trees and patio and fun chalk art on the sidewalk. Our friends at PopoWags entertained and fed our guests with their live kettle corn popping, which was then served in hand-screened popcorn bags, designed by our lovely intern Ali.

The shiniest star of this year’s event was our friend Amelia the Airstream. Greeting guests majestically in the driveway, Amelia showcased the interior design skills of Chartreuse and enchanted with her extreme makeover story.

Huge thanks go to our artists, friends and guests for sharing a charming summer evening with us in Lakewood. We’re already looking forward to next year!
